The dance rock, punk funk, electro-boogie of the Rapture exploded with the band's 2002 underground single, "House of Jealous Lovers." The song melded electronic and dance music elements with a raw rock sound that put the band on the downtown New York radar. Their debut full-length album, Echoes was met with loads of critical acclaim. They released their follow-up, Pieces of the People We Love in 2006, with production help from Paul Epworth (Bloc Party), Ewan Pearson (Depeche Mode) and Danger Mouse (The Gray Album). It features a more polished spin, but still rolls up rock, disco and electronica into a big ball of boogie.
