Hailing from Minneapolis, indie rock's Midwestern mecca, Tapes n' Tapes recorded their first album while holed up for the winter in a Wisconsin cabin. The result? A buzz-worthy EP and the foundations of their first full-length, 2004's The Loon. The Loon grabbed high praise from Pitchfork, arbiter of all things indie and made Tapes n' Tapes the critical darlings of 2006. With a sound that mixes up polka, blues and the sharp edges of the Pixies, they've brought their live show on tour with acts ranging from The Futureheads to The Streets. In late 2006, Tapes n' Tapes cashed in and leant their song "Jakov's Suite" to a Nissan television commercial.
