Championed as one of the "Dalston pack" that spawned The Libertines and The Others, Johnny Borrell has come along way since. In 2002 he formed Razorlight and by 2006 they are taking Coldplay's mantle as Britain's finest band. Having played Top of the Pops, The Olympic Torch Parade and Live 8 Razorlight have supported Oasis, Richard Ashcroft and were personally invited onto Parkison by the king of chat himself. In 2006 Razorlight's second album is to be released on July 17th, and if previous offering "Up All Night" (which reached number 3 in the UK album charts) is anything to go by, expect to be blown away. The new album has been produced by Chris Thomas (who's worked with the Beatles and Pink Floyd) and will feature "In the Morning" (currently number 3 in the UK singles charts). And worry not about remembering the title, because the album expected to be called 'The Modern Condition' or better still 'Wham Bam Bam', will simply be entitled "Razorlight". Clever.
