Placebo

Placebo

"Placebo" is the medical term given to "an improvement in health without medical treatment". "Meds", Placebo's new album is a fantastic remedy to the ills of manufactured pop. Our prescription: play loud and listen twice daily.  Having formed in the early nineties, after a chance meeting between former schoolmates Brian Molko (Vocals) Stefan Olsdal (Bass) at South Kensington tube station, Placebo's new album which features a manipulated image of an androgenous figure on the front cover (either that or it's a photo of Brian after a night on the beers) is the band's sixth record to date, and marks a return to their most rocking rock roots. Indeed, having rocked-out for over a decade, Placebo have banked enough memories to keep the grandkids entertained: having played alongside musical greats such as David Bowie, The Cure's Robert Smith and more recently R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, they filmed the video for new single "Because I want you" at the same location as The Album Chart Show, in Camden's beautiful Koko.
